THE HISTORY <
The
Sound Design Group began as
a small basement recording studio
over 35 years ago. And in the
hands of Taka and Moko Nanri
has grown into a multi-million
dollar business. Taka started
out as one of the earliest Japanese
exponents of British Rock music.
His love of the 12 strings Acoustic
Guitar drew him to international
influences at a very early stage
of his music career. From
this point on, Taka forged a
path for himself through the
music industry as a pioneer
of innovative and original music.
Not only did Taka have his finger
on the pulse of the international
music scene, he also had the
technical expertise to back
him up. This combination has
been the basis for his tremendous
success in the field of music
production.
One of Takafs
greatest achievements was the
introduction a brand new genre
of music now known as gNew
Age". He created New Age
music by artfully combining
modern synthesized sounds with
traditional, spiritual melodies.
It was Taka who discovered the
now world famous Kitaro and
shaped him into an international
star with a string of hit albums
across Asia, Europe and the
USA. Other artists who have
benefited from Takafs skills
as producer are Sojiro, David
Foster, AirElements, MESA and
John Herberman.
The
other player in the Sound Design
success story is Moko Nanri.
Moko manages the very successful
music publishing and concert
promotion divisions of Sound
Design. Like Taka, Moko
is extremely internationally
oriented, with a keen business
sense and a charming personality.
Moko
too is comfortable at the forefront
of new developments. She
was one of the very first Japanese
staff to be hired by an overseas
airline. She was enjoying
an active career as an overseas
correspondent for one of Japanfs
largest networks when she met
Taka, and was introduced to
the music industry.
It
was Taka and Mokofs great combination
of skill and passion that pushed
Sound Design into the multi-million
dollar bracket.
